Meet the Founder
ALLY MACLEOD BEng IEng MIET, Principal Consultant
As an Incorporated Engineer, Electrical Lecturer, and experienced Electrician, Ally has seen the industry from every angle.
His career began firmly "on the tools" in Commercial Installation and Maintenance. Completing his apprenticeship within a busy college campus, Ally learned the trade by keeping a large facility running—installing new circuits, upgrading distribution boards, and managing compliance in a live educational environment.
He then took that experience into the world's most safety-critical industries: Oil & Gas and Pharmaceuticals.
From commissioning critical control systems on North Sea platforms to managing ATEX compliance in strict pharmaceutical environments, he has operated where safety standards are non-negotiable.
Ally started VoltHalt because he was tired of seeing competent electricians exposed to danger—both physically and legally, simply because they didn't have a system in place.
Now a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, he combines deep academic knowledge with real-world grit to ensure your business is protected by the same rigorous standards he teaches in the classroom.
